G7 Nations Forge Landmark Trade Pact Amid Rising Economic Tensions

Leaders of the world's seven largest democracies reached a sweeping agreement Monday to overhaul cross-border tariff structures after months of fractious negotiation.

The accord, hammered out over three days of closed-door sessions in Brussels, represents the most significant restructuring of international trade frameworks since the post-pandemic realignments of 2022.

"This agreement will define the shape of globalisation for the next decade."

Negotiators described a "historic breakthrough" on semiconductor supply chains and critical mineral access — two flashpoints that had stalled earlier rounds of talks.
